KSZW1 Tool-length-measurer
This useful piece of accessories consists of a high-precision sensor in a casing that can be fixed to the Y-table (see picture). The sensor is protected by a steel membrane.
The picture shows it mounted at a cross-grooved table.
General information
The position of the tool-length-measurer (short TLM) must first be taught-in. After a tool has been exchanged, the new tool will automatically go to the sensor (through a mouseclick) to correct the Z-value of the workpiece zeropoint.
The TLM is of special interest when the tools have to be changed very often which would mean to reset the Z-positions of the tools all the time, because of the difference in tool lengths.
