The machining unit consists mainly of an electrical driven spindle. And a clamp to fix the tool (mill, drill, engraving router a.o.m.) in different diameters.

A servomotor drive has got certain characteristics:
Servomotors are very dynamic (fast change of speed, good controllability) and very powerful. This requires a high load tolerance of the linear axes, therefore you must choose machines with high load capacity.
Servomotors have got an integrated encoder (rotation supervision and angle control), which provides a constant position even at standstill. Therefore, the motor must be shut off for manual tool change (Software function).
Servomotors are extremely maintenance-free, without brushes and current transmission elements towards the rotor (collector), nor ventilator. However, a servo-amplifier (control- and amplifier electronics) is required, which will normally be housed behind the body (Portal). A small ventilator is built in there.
Servomotors are extremely low
Servomotors and spindles are separated from one another, this means: flexible transmission ratios when needed (Standard 40:18), easier maintenance, spindle can be modified.
